The Day I said YES

I still cannot believe I'm engaged! It was the most hectic 2 months from July with work and all, me being part of the organising team for AmBanks biggest sports event and planning my own engagement.

In my head, i always wanted some grand engagement party but I guess as you grow older things change. We decided to do have a small do with just my closes family and friends. 1 September 2018 was the chosen date. A lot of people was asking me what is the significant of the date, while basically it was because its a public holiday and that was the earliest date i was free. Initially we wanted to get engaged in August but then with all that was happening and me being outstation most of the time, September seems like the best time.

Since its just a small do, we decided we should just have our engagement at my brothers place in TTDI. There was a small hall that we rented for the day for tea and some finger food. Mama decided from the beginning there wont be any dais, it would just be a simple engagement. What we thought was a small do, turn out to be kinda huge cause about 30 pax came from Faisal's side (that should be a different blog post). That was pretty stressful in the beginning.

Any way, Got my outfit at Padang, Indonesia (its a sign that you cannot separate me from Indonesia),I didn't want those lace baju kurung or some over the top baju kurung, So i had something nice and simple,  dad it done at Faiz Boutique (Which is my all time favourite tailor), Makeup was done by norianathefacedesigner (she did Yuna's makeup and Gosh she is super expensive), Shoes from Nelissa Hilman and our caterer was Mak Tim (Johorean Food) .

My Hantaran was done by Idieana which was beautiful and my engagement ring was exactly how I wanted it to be, a semi eternity white gold from Diamond and Platinum.

We decided on 3 hantaran tray from my side and 2 from Faisal's side (of course deciding the number of trays was a a bit dramatic). We couldnt agree on the number hence we didn't follow the adat on the number of trays. Owhh well, we are all modern people after all.

From my side it was Cake, Patchi Chocolates and also Biscuits from Crabtree and Everlyn  while Faisal gave me cake and the engagement and Merisik Ring (or known as booking ring)

Its still surreal how things turn out , didnt expect to get engaged after a year of meeting the love of my life and here I am... all ready to be someone's wife (i think)...
